Obituary

CEDRIC DELAWRENCE KNIGHT was born on April 28, 1973 in Gadsden County, Florida to Homer Knight and Nerline Allison Norris. His mother preceded him in death.

CEDRIC , affectionately known as " CK " to his family and friends, attended the public schools of Gadsden County and graduated from Havana Northside High School, Class of 1991 (second best class to ever grace its campus, our humor). Following graduation, CEDRIC enlisted into the United States Navy where he served distinctly for 11 years. Upon being honorably discharged, CEDRIC was ranked as an A02(AW). Following his military career, CEDRIC joined the Leon County Sheriff Department where he was currently employed until his untimely passing. He was affiliated with the 2nd Fire Chief of the Greenshade A.M.E. Fire Department, Community Fire Department and Support Posse of the Leon County Sheriff Office (LCSO).

CEDRIC was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Tiffany on May 30, 2015. Upon this blessed union, he gained a son, DeMoraye Malik Edwards and a daughter, Tatyanna Joslyn Edwards, both known as "His Birds". At an early age, CEDRIC confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and joined Mayflower African Methodist Episcopal Church. Following his marriage, he became a member of Old Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. CEDRIC'S love will be cherished forever by his loving wife: Tiffany Knight; children: DeMoraye Malik Edwards and Tatyanna Joslyn Edwards; father: Homer Knight; sister: Felicia Kenon; a niece raised as a daughter: Shan'lyia Gainey, all of Havana, FL; two special surrogate mothers who were charged to carry on his mother's role: Benita Williams and Catherine Candler, both of Jamieson, FL; aunts: Earline Allison (Alton) Farmer, Crawfordville, FL, Mary Allison Allen, Mabel Allison (Pastor Willie) Webster, Delois Maddox, Bessie Knight, Doshan Williams and Geraldine Bennett, all of Tallahassee, FL and Annie Pearl Knight of Havana, FL; uncles: Frank (Betty) Allison, Howard Allison, Willie Allison, Sylvester Knight, Lewis Knight, all of Tallahassee, FL, Johnny Knight, Havana, FL and Larry Allison of St. Petersburg, FL; brothers-in-law: Leroy (Elizabeth) Sasser, Bainbridge, GA, Ronald (Ruby) McCray and Christopher (Kimberly) Crawford, both of Tallahassee, FL, Kelvin (Miesha) Watson and Leroy Sasser, both of Houston, TX; sister-in-law: Tamica Ward-Scales of Houston, TX; godsister: LaMonica Gadsden of Havana, FL; godchildren: Derrick Williams, Jr., Deandra Williams, both of Jamieson, FL, Gabriel Smart and Dayjia Kirksey, both of Bainbridge, GA, Tyler Brown, Havana, FL and Timothy Allison (Lyntrice) Christian of Tallahassee, FL; special cousins: Milvet Allen and Steven Allison, both of Tallahassee, FL, Derrick (Cassandra) Williams, Jamieson, FL Timothy Allison, Bainbridge, GA, Chad Jones, Havana, FL, the Jamieson Crew, Squad 4 Boys (LCSO) and his partner in crime, Sheila Johnson of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
