Obituary

MALIK "LIK" MINNIS was born on the morning of May 24, 1999 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Even as a newborn, Malik's smile was infectious. MALIK was always a happy child and brought joy to all that knew him. To know him was to love him. His life took many turns, but there was no doubt he had a bright future ahead. Though he didn't graduate in 2017, MALIK made it his mission to go back to school and become a graduate for he and his family. He did it! He was on track to becoming that better man that he wanted to be. In 2018, MALIK decided to take destiny in his own hands and lay the foundation for a brighter future by devoting his life to Jesus Christ.

MALIK enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, most notable: basketball, track and field, and flag football, and he had a special love for spades, shopping and gathering with friends!! Those closest to MALIK knew of his passion for his two dogs Benji and Ccino, his family and how much of a "sneaker head' he was. His passion was modeling and taking pictures. MALIK was planning on moving to Houston, Texas next year to start a new life and become an entrepreneur. He prided himself on making his OWN Money.

MALIK departed this life for eternal joy on Friday, June 26, 2020. MALIK will be loved and cherished forever by his loving parents: Johari Palmer and Joaquin A. Minnis, Sr.; girlfriend: Anaysia Williams; sisters: LaToya R. Evans, Destiny A. Minnis, Iy'Sis A. Minnis and Kaedeja A. Spencer; brothers: Ja'Mari A. Minnis, Jacobie A. Minnis, Joaquin A. Minnis, Jr., Jordan D. Minnis, Dalvin D. Young, James A. Young, Javaris K. Young and Ken'tre Horton; aunts: Cynthia Holston and Natasha M. (Brandon) Williams; uncle: Hershel C. (Tanica) Minnis, Jr.; grandparents: Estella Minnis, Herschel C. Minnis, Sr. and Cora L. Salters; godparents: Loretta Brown, Eddie Brooks, Dwanna and Andrew Hill, and Toni Milton; and a host of other relatives and friends. Malik was preceded in death by his grandfather, John L. Palmer, Jr.

His life will be remembered by all because of his playful spirit and humble heart.
