Romerio Dorianzo Perkins

Tallahassee, FL - Romerio "Romy" Dorianzo Perkins, 69, was born to Robert D. Perkins, Sr. and Trudie Chester Perkins on March 27, 1952 in Tallahassee, Florida. Romerio transitioned unexpectedly on Monday, November 1, 2021. At his request, no services will be held. He attended the public schools of Leon County until the age of 14. Romerio completed his high school education at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA in 1970. He graduated from Princeton University in 1974. Throughout high school and college, Romy was an all-star athlete in wrestling, football, hockey and lacrosse. He later earned a Master's degree from Florida State University. He was a business consultant specializing in investment banking, municipal finance, commerce and urban planning. Romy was a former newspaper journalist and a published author. He was a prolific reader and writer of poetry and prose; an avid jazz aficionado who enjoyed chess, golf, music, a robust intellectual debate and a quiet walk on the beach. Romerio's love, life and legacy will be forever cherished by his wife and life partner, Sharon J. Perkins; daughters: Ila (Ariel) Perkins-Escoto and Sharisse D. Perkins; sister, Jacqueline Y. Perkins (Sam Randolph); and several nieces, nephews, other beloved relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents, his sisters, Mildred Chester Johnson and Loretta Perkins Speed; and brothers, Reginuer D. Perkins and Robert D. Perkins, Jr.
