Wilbert Butler, Sr.

Havana, FL - Wilbert Butler, Sr., 90, of Havana, FL passed in Waycross, GA on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial in the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). Mr. Butler was a deacon and usher for 70+ years at New Jerusalem M.B. Church. He was a 1956 graduate of the original Lincoln High School, with certification in tailoring. He was a Korean War Army veteran and owner of Havana's first Black-owned Dry Cleaners, as well as, the founder and Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 254. Cherishing his love are his wife, Carrie Mae Richardson Butler; children: Gail W. Butler-Hinton, Dr. Wilbert (LaMonica) Butler, Jr., Melissa (Robert) Muhammad, Dr. Teri (Elder Dr. Chris A.) Burney, Tony Richardson, Angela and Felicia McBride; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Henderson; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
