Alton Earnest Donaldson Farmer, 90, of Crawfordville, FL passed on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, in Walker Cemetery with military honors. Viewing is 9-10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul P.B. Church where he served faithfully for many years. Mr. Farmer was a 1955 graduate of Florida A&M University and a U.S. Army Commissioned Officer (2nd Lt.). He had been an active member of the FAMU Alumni Association for almost 68 years. He was Chairman of the Deacon and Trustee Board, Financial Secretary and Sunday School Teacher at St. Paul. He taught public school for 33 years, retiring in 1990 from Tallahassee's Fairview Middle School. He leaves to cherish his love and legacy, his loving and faithful wife of 47 years, Earline Allison Farmer; eight children: Phaedra E. Farmer, Cassandra D. (Thomas) Wilson, Hiram L. Farmer, Ivan C. Farmer, Tamara F. Romeo, Duane L. (Priscilla) Farmer; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother Alton B. Farmer, Jr.; sister, Alice F. Wilkerson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
