It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Mr. Benajmin Garrison , age 78, who departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2026, at Mt. Zion P.B. Church, 11014 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312, with the burial to follow in Floyd Chapel Cemetery, Sunny Hill Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312.
Benjamin Garrison was born May 3, 1947, in Montgomery, Alabama to James Sr. & Gertie Mae Flowers Garrison.
On April 21, 2026, Benjamin went to sleep awaiting the trumpet call of Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by a daughter: Raquel Wilson; his parents; two sisters: Janice Hill, Curstine Riggins, and four brothers: Paul, Ruben, Gabriel, and James Jr.
Benjamin was baptized at an early age and over his lifetime served as a deacon at Star Baptist Church and later as usher at Freewill Missionary Baptist Church. He has shown himself to be a praying man and regularly attended church including Sunday School and Small Group until his health failed him. Many commented on his kindness and genuine care for others. If there was anyone infirm or needing care in the room, that's where you would find him. He graduated from Alabama State with a BBA and served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Brockway Glass Company, Coca Cola, Jackson Hospital, Baptist South and retired after working at Visco Fan.
Benjamin leaves to cherish precious memories, His wife of 22 years: Ruby Walker Garrison; daughter: Keisha Garrison-Hill, Montgomery, AL; sons: Benjamin James Garrison, Montgomery, AL and Terrance Hughes; three grandchildren: Brittany Garrison, Brandon (Crystal) Littleton, and Jazlynn Russell; one great-granddaughter: Aryah Russell; brothers: Kenneth Garrison, Sandy Garrison, Prescott (Tonia) Garrison and Eris Garrison, sisters: Louella (Alphonso) Harrison, Fannie (Jerry) Jackson and Sheila Garrison; in-laws: Pinkie (Jerome) Hendley, Ft. Pierce, FL, Chriss (Deborah) Walker, Elie Walker, and Tony White, all of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Garrison and to serve the Garrison Family.
