It is with a humble heart, yet unwavering hope in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we announce the earthly transition of the Elder Bobby Charles Reed II, 51, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950).

A Service of Triumph will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2026, at Watson Temple Institutional COGIC, 665 West Brevard Street, Tallahassee, FL 32304.

Elder Bobby Charles Reed II

Elder Bobby Charles Reed II, fondly remembered as “Charles,” a mighty man of God, was born in Defuniak Springs, Florida to Bobby Charles Reed Sr. and Mary Etta Randolph on November 12, 1974. Elder Reed was preceded in death by his beloved Grandmother, Ruby Lee Randolph; Uncles, Richard and Claude Randolph, and cousin, Akema Adams. He loved God, he loved his family, he loved God’s people and believed in preaching to the captives.

He was educated in the Leon County and Walton County Florida School Systems. He was a military kid and graduated from Wurzburg American High School (DoDDS) in Wurzburg, Germany. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served our country valiantly. After the military, he worked as a security officer for E- Trade bank in Washington D.C. He was also called back into service as a security guard at the United States Pentagon after the 9/11 attack in Washington, D.C.

Elder Reed found Christ for himself at a storefront church now known as Bethesda New Life Gospel Church in Bethesda, Maryland. He was licensed as a minister there and called to preach and teach the Word of God. He also participated in prison ministry and was a chaplain for five years. He helped baptize hundreds of newly saved souls. He taught Sunday School, became an ordained Elder in Tallahassee, Florida and was currently serving as an Elder at Deliverance Temple Outreach Ministries. He loved outreach ministry, praise and worship, baptizing new souls and serving God’s people genuinely. He prayed and preached with an anointing full of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

He was a proud and integral part of the illustrious Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where he served as Superintendent of Housing Maintenance. He loved his job, caring for the students and the FAMU Housing Maintenance team.

Elder Bobby Charles Reed II married his beloved wife of almost 10 years, the former Kenya Kareem in December 2016. He was an amazing husband and best friend. He revered and cherished being an excellent father to our precious Zariah.

He loved to eat a great meal. He loved cooking out, fishing, and traveling, especially on cruises. He was an avid video gamer. He loved great movies and could always pick the best shows to binge watch.

Elder Bobby Charles Reed II leaves to mourn his Wife, Kenya Reed; Daughter, Zariah Reed; Mother, Mary Etta Randolph, Father: Bobby Reed, Sr. (Janice); Brothers, Robert Norton (Valerie) and Theodis “TJ” Norton; Sisters, Leah Croom and Ayanna Reed (Eric); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; Marine Corps Brothers, Dedric “PeeWee” Thomas and Mike “Herb” Hardeman; Best Friend, Grover Jackson; FAMU Work Family; Deliverance Temple Church Family as well as a host of friends.
