BOBBY RUFFIN SUTTON was the son of Earnest Sutton,
Sr. and Mary Felton Sutton. He was born on October 6,
1936 in Alexander City, Alabama. BOBBY was preceded
in death by both of his parents and two of his siblings,
Earnest Sutton, Jr. and sister, Mary Jo Sutton
Hutchinson.
BOBBY grew up in his native Alexander City where he
attended public school. He was a 1955 graduate of Laurel
High School. Following graduation, he began his college
career at Alabama A&M University in Normar,
Alabama. After a short stint in college, BOBBY enlisted
in the United States Army. After being honorable
discharged, he settled in Nyack, New York. He worked
for the state of New York for several years and
commenced preparing tax returns part-time. This would
later turn into a business venture that he worked for
years. Following his retirement, he moved to
Tallahassee, Florida where he continued his tax
preparation business.
Growing up in a God-fearing Christian home, BOBBY
worshipped with his parents and siblings in the Church
of God. He learned early in life the values and virtues of
hard work and honest. He was a father and grandfather.
Among his survivors are his daughter: Debbie Sutton
(Richard) Vaughn; three grandchildren: Richard J.
Vaughn, Stephen A. Vaughn and Kayla A. Vaughn; a
brother: Kweku Ayangade; devoted friend: Aaron
Nathan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives
