Brenda Jean Tyson, 71, of Monticello passed at home on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Graveside funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Capps, FL. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553). Brenda was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson County High School. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University, where she majored in Clothing and Textiles. She worked many years for the State of Florida's Department of Children and Families. Survivors include her mother, Essie Mae Hall Tyson; sister, Janice (Ted) Crumity; brother, Minister Carl (Debra) Tyson; sister-in-law, Erma Tyson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Sumpter Tyson; and brothers, Willie James and Walter Lee Tyson.
