Mrs. Clara Bailey Floyd Gaymon, 87, of Tallahassee passed on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Funeral services are 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial in Southside Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-5:30 p.m. at the Old West with a Wake from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.'s Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony will be at 7:00 p.m. She graduated from FAMU in Business Administration and received her Master's in Counseling Education. She was the longtime Director of Financial Aid at FAMU and later worked for the Florida Department of Education as its first Black Financial Management Specialist. Mrs. Gaymon was active in numerous civic and fraternal orders and was a member of St. Paul P.B. Church where her son, Kenton, pastors. Treasuring her love are her sons: Delbert (Kim), Kirkland (Jeannie) and Elder Kenton (Veronique) Floyd; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings: John Bailey and Annie Bailey Brooks; bonus children: Dr. Fred Gainous, Willie Floyd, Charles Jefferson, Oscar Floyd, Dara (Ray) Gaymon, Warren (Coretha) Gaymon and Debra (Robert) McNair; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
