Mother Cloia Daisy Griffin Close, 89, of Tallahassee passed following an acute illness on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, at the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial in St. Peter P.B. Church Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Thursday (Today) at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). Mother Close was the widow of Frank Close, Sr. She was a devoted member of St. Peter P.B. Church, Centerville Road, where she served as a member of Choir # 2. Her sons, John and David Close preceded her in death. Cherishing her love are her sons: Frank Jr. (Brenda), Jesse (Henrietta) and Billy (Fran) Close; daughters: Sandra C. Turnquest, Sarah C. Jackson, Shirley C. Washington, Bernice C. McQueen and Kenyetta C. (Sheldon) Caldwell; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil (Bertha) Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
