It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Mr. Daniel Elijah Foster , 61, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this life on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Graveside services celebrating the life of Mr. Daniel Elijah Foster will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the St. Phillips AME Church Cemetery, 6200 Centerville Road, Tallahassee, FL 32309.
Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950).
DANIEL ELIJAH "DEE" FOSTER was born September 21, 1964, in Tallahassee, Florida. He was the son of Albert L. Foster and Mary F. White.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father: Albert L. Foster; mother: Mary F. White; brother: Willie J. Bennett and sisters: Susietta (Edward) Smith, Julia (George) Lattimore, and Alisa Foster; grandparents: Robert and Mariah Foster, York Ford, Sr. and Lilla Brown Ford; and uncle: York (Valerie) Ford, Jr.
Daniel received his education through Leon County public school system and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1982. He grew up in a Christian home where faith was instilled in him from an early age.
Additionally, Daniel accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior along his spiritual journey. He was a member of God's Church of Salvation (aka Powerhouse C.O.G.I.C) Tallahassee, Florida under the Leadership of Bishop Trenton D. Lambright.
Throughout Daniel's life, he dedicated himself to hard work and began his professional career by completing vocational training through Job Corps of America where he acquired the necessary skills and resources to succeed and make a lasting contribution to society. Businesses that benefited from his expertise were State of Florida as a Maintenance Technician, City of Tallahassee (Waste Management), Mayflower Moving & Storage, Revels Meats and various Lawn Care Services.
Daniel leaves to cherish precious memories, four brothers: Everett H. Bates, Gainesville, FL, Duane Foster, East Pointe, MI, Glenn (Georgina) and Kendell Foster, both of Tallahassee, FL; three sisters: Valerie F. (Jeffery) Williams and Regina F. (Wilbur) Manning, both of Tallahassee, FL, and Jocelyn F. (Carl) Donahoo of Niceville, FL; uncles: James Brown, Tallahassee, FL, James (Melody) Ford, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Joseph (Tracey) Ford, Dover, DE and Charles Foster of Detroit, MI; aunts: Rebecca Peaks and Clara Thomas, both of St. Petersburg, FL, Sarah Blair, Houston, TX and Lillie Ford Jackson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loving friends.
It is our profound honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Foster and to serve the Foster Family.
