David Eugene Gavin, 58, of Babylon, NY passed there on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Flipper Chapel AME Church, with burial in St. Peter Community Cemetery, Woodville. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). A 1984 Rickards High graduate, David had served several years in the Florida National Guard before moving to New York. He was a talented hairstylist (licensed), exotic cook and a fashion guru. David is survived by his life companion, Gary Gerace; sisters: Susie May Gavin Edwards, Mildred Gavin Collins, Lucile Gavin Frazier (Lucius), Valerie Gavin Brown; brother, George Gavin (Della); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
