Deacon Franklin Roosevelt Ford, Sr., 91, of Tallahassee answered the Master's Call on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial in Southside Cemetery. A Wake will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Elizabeth Popular Spring P.B. Church. Mr. Ford was an ordained deacon at Elizabeth Popular Spring and a retired Maintenance Technician for the Florida Supreme Court. After 33 years of service, he spent 16 years with the Lincoln Neighborhood Center and 14 years with the City of Tallahassee as a School Crossing Guard. He was known for his talent as a gospel singer. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Ruby Wyartt Ford; sons: Larry, Eddie (Andrea) and Darrell (Lona) Ford; daughters: Frankie (Reginald) Carter and Deborah (Dereck) Chambliss; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers: Elder Jerome (Sandra) and Odell Ford; sisters: Mary Johnson, Gloria Bryant, Dorothy Ford and Joyce Butler; and a host of other relatives and friends.
