Mrs. Dorothy Mae Simpkins Barnhart, 92, of Monticello, FL passed on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 at Greater Fellowship M.B. Church, with interment in the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Greater Fellowship. Born in Orlando, Mrs. Barnhart spent most of her life in Monticello. She was a faithful member of Greater Fellowship, serving as a Church Mother. She was a superb cook, seamstress and gardener. Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn B. (Michael) Austin; sons: Cornelius, Willard, David (Sandra), William (Tawana) and Richard (Cetta) Barnhart; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; in-laws: Cynthia (Arthur) Hollis, Carla (Harrell) Lavender, Fannie Green, Robert Shepard and Tyrone Barnhart; godchildren: Nathaniel Butler, Anthony Miller, Mildred Wilson and Mimi Shaw. Mrs. Barnhart's husband, Willard Sr. and son, Byron and grandson, all preceded her in death.
