Obituary

It is with loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Mr. Dequan L. Robinson , age 47, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Monday, April 6, 2026.

Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, 700 Putnam Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32301.

FAMILY

Dequan Lametric Robinson was born on September 8, 1978. He was the cherished son of Sylvia (Duane) Dixie and John (Shenika) Robinson, who nurtured him with love, wisdom, and guidance. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Elizabeth (George) Griffin and his paternal grandparents: Mendell (Boswell) Holmes and John Robinson, Sr.

EDUCATION AND CAREER

Dequan attended Leon County Public Schools and pursued higher education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). He built a rewarding career in construction and landscaping, where his diligence and dedication earned the respect of all who worked alongside him.

PASSIONS AND LEGACY

Outside of work, Dequan had a deep passion for crabbing and fishing. These activities brought him immense joy and allowed him to share his love of the outdoors with those closest to him. DEQUAN was known for his quick wit and warm smile. He had a unique gift for making people feel welcomed and valued. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives, and his ability to lighten the mood with a well-timed joke was truly unparalleled. He will be deeply missed.

Dequan's love and legacy will be cherished forever by his son: Aaron Terrell of Chicago, IL– one of his proudest accomplishments– and special companion: Soccorro of Tallahassee, FL. Dequan was a supportive brother to his oldest sister: Lakechia Lewis of Tallahassee, FL and his younger sister: Tammi Robinson.

Dequan is also survived by his uncles: Ulysses Holliday and Mayfield (Vivian) Holliday of Massachusetts, Quintin Lewis, Tallahassee, FL and William Holmes of Quincy, FL. His aunties include: Sheryl (Andre') Brown, Yolanda (Anthony) Barnes, Dorothy Osikorobia, Evette Lewis, Carol Ann Holliday, April Donaldson and Alisa (Lee) Colson, all of Tallahassee, FL, Henrietta Smith, West Palm Beach, FL, Lucille (David) Brunson of Maryland, Arnell Bodden of Massachusetts, along with their families; and three great-aunties: Alice Linton, Teresa Adams and Freddie Ash. He was a devoted uncle to his niece: Shankeria Lewis; three great-nieces: ZiyDashia, KeyZarria and KhaMarria Jones; and one great-nephew: King Jones, all of Tallahassee, FL. He was a godson to his godmother: Gwendolyn of Midway, FL. Dequan's life was enriched by the deep friendship of his best friend for over 25 years: Kindo Peterson; and a host of close cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Robinson and to serve the Robinson Family.
