Mother Dorothie Lee Allen James passed at home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Funeral services are 12 noon Saturday, April 6, at St. Rosa P.B. Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). A 1958 graduate of the original Lincoln High School, Mrs. James served diligently as a Church Mother at St. Rosa and was retired from Sunland Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and pottery. Survivors include her loving daughters: Alfreda James, Vanesia James and Curtisia Johnson; grandchildren: Nakea, Theartis Jr. (Sherese) and Tray Johnson, Arion Allen, Darryl Ruth, Markeith Everett, Jr. and Summer Pocahontas James; godchildren: Andre (Shaliah) Riley, Cedric (Cassandra) and Denisa Donaldson and McCovey Washington; siblings: Lynda and George McClenton, Jr., Joseph Allen, Lula Rivers and Marva Mosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
