Dr. Willie Ree Tillman Williams, 87, passed on Friday, June 16, 2023. Funeral services are 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Greater Fellowship M.B. Church, with burial in Texas Hill Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at 1215 North Jefferson St., Monticello. TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553) is serving the family. A 1953 graduate of Howard Academy High School, Dr. Williams earned her undergrad and graduate degrees from FAMU. She was awarded her Ph.D. from FSU. Dr. Williams was the consummate educator. She taught English, literature and drama at Howard Academy and completed over 40 years at FAMU. She served as a deaconess at her beloved Greater Fellowship. Her parents, Robert ClemonTillman and Sevilla Burney Tillman and her siblings: Ephriam, William, Clemon "Pete" Tillman, Kent Gentle and Almeda Tillman Wyche Lane Montgomery all preceded her in death. Her sister, Bessie Tillman Early, also passed on June 21, 2023.
