Eddie Lanoris Thompson, Jr., affectionately known as “Blue Tic,” was born in Thomasville (Thomas County), Georgia on August 7, 1970. He was the beloved son of Eddie Thompson, Sr. and Callie Thompson, both who preceded their son, Eddie, to Glory.
Eddie grew up in Monticello, Florida, the home of his parents and their parents for generations. Young Eddie attended the public schools of Jefferson County and last attended Jefferson County High School. The product of a God-fearing, hardworking family, Eddie was blessed by having his parent and grandparents to provide guidance and tutelage. He learned early how to farm (his maternal grandfather) and to build and perform concrete finishing. He was employed with the City of Tallahassee, Parks and Recreation. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, karaoke and dancing.
At an early age, Eddie confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior. He joined his family church at St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church. He was also a member of Joshua Lodge No. 10.
During the past few years, Eddie had encountered several health issues. On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, God welcomed Brother Eddie “Blue Tic” Thompson, Jr. Home for his eternal rest. His love and memory will be treasured forever by his wife: Louise Hawkins Thompson; loving daughters: Ariel Thompson and Niya Thompson; son: Eddie L. Thompson III; three grandchildren: Treasure Thompson, Ava Thompson and Johnny Rollins, all of Tallahassee, FL; sisters: Sabrina Thompson, Monticello, FL and Carolyn Thompson of Tallahassee, FL; special brother: Willie (Vondie) Thompson of Tallahassee, FL; nieces: Rhaquese (Dominque) Glenn, Lashadra Woody and Ahmelia Trico; nephews: Brandon Doston and Amijah Trico, all of Tallahassee, FL; one great-niece: Zahmyiah Pendleton; godmother: Lilla “Lilla Re” Anderson; and a host of other relatives and loving friends.
It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Thompson and to serve the Thompson family.
