John Patrick Whitley was born February 2, 1967 in Flushing, New York. He was the son of John L. and Dorothy J. Whitley. John's father preceded him in death.

John Patrick, who was lovingly known as "Pat", was a man who loved to travel and to discover new and exciting experiences. He was a master chef in the kitchen and the best dressed person who everyone loved. John Patrick was a stern and fair man. He was more than just a people-person, he was loved by many and was always "the life of the party". John proved to be a man of integrity and determination by pursuing and receiving a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Florida A&M University on August 2, 2019.

John received Christ at an early age which led to him becoming an Elder and active member of Life Changer Church Of God In Christ of Tallahassee, Florida. On February 8, 2020, God Almighty summoned His servant child Elder John Patrick Whitley, Home for his eternal rest.

Elder Whitley leaves to cherish precious memories his children: Dejuan J. Whitley, Felita M. Whitley and Jayden B. Whitley; loving mother: Dorothy J. Whitley; brother: Erik Christopher Whitley; sisters: Beverly Brown, Jamie Pearcy and Melissa Anne Whitley-Shazier; godmother: Barbara Brown; godbrother: Anthony Britt; and a host of other loving relatives and good friends.
