Mrs. Elesta Clemons Pritchett, 94, of Greenville, FL finished her earthly course on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Homegoing services are 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, at Madison Church of God, with Interment in New Zion Cemetery. Viewing is 4:30-6:30p.m., with a Wake from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at New Zion. A Greenville native, Mrs. Pritchett was a graduate of Greenville Training School, Suwanee River Jr. College (Associate degree) and Florida A&M University (Bachelor's and Master's degrees). She was an Educator, Curriculum Coordinator and Administrator with Madison County Schools for 38 years. She was civically and fraternally-involved with countless agencies and organizations. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and a longtime member of New Zion M.B. Church where she held virtually every position of leadership. Mrs. Pritchett served several terms as Mayor of Greenville and was highly committed to her community, always encouraging her students and neighborhood children to work hard, be honest and achieve success. Left to mourn her passing are her children: Johnny Lee Brown, Dorothy Jean Pritchett, Juanita Pritchett Coar and Johnny Beryl Pritchett, Jr. (Patricia); 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
