Remembering
Emmanuel Sunday Agboola
Emmanuel Sunday Agboola, 72, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed on Monday, October 13, 2025. He was born September 19, 1953, in Zaria, Nigeria, to Michael Ojo Agboola and Hajindu Oloyi–Ogunjobi.
In 1978, Emmanuel immigrated to the United States to attend Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama, where he earned his Bachelor in Science in Economics in 1981, followed by a Master in Business Administration in 1983. He lived in Delray Beach, Atlanta, and Nashville prior to settling in Tallahassee in 1993. Emmanuel worked for the State of Florida before joining Florida A&M University (FAMU) in 2005 as a Certified Financial Aid Coordinator for Federal Programs. After a distinguished career in public service, he retired from FAMU on June 30, 2023.
Emmanuel found joy in cooking, engaging in lively political discussions, and connecting with friends through meaningful conversations. Emmanuel accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Yaba Baptist Church in Lagos, Nigeria, where he joyfully worshiped until he moved to the United States. As a devout Christian, Emmanuel shared his faith with warmth and sincerity. He served faithfully at the Redeemed Christian Church of God - Go Ye Chapel in Tallahassee where he was ordained as a Deacon in 2011.
Emmanuel S. Agboola is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of nearly 40 years, Tinuoye Agboola (née Oyelowo) of Tallahassee, FL. He will be lovingly missed by his daughters Sarah Agboola of Los Angeles, CA, from a former marriage; Ajoke Agboola (Samuel Rappé) of Washington, DC; Ololade Agboola and Tolulope Agboola, both of Houston, TX; grandchildren Maya Rappé and Mina Rappé; sisters Bolajoko Ishola (née Agboola) and Ibidun Marinho (née Agboola), and brother, Ojo Agboola, from Nigeria; and numerous loving relatives and supportive friends.
His legacy will forever be cherished by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
The Agboola Family is grateful for the care rendered to Emmanuel by Big Bend Hospice Tallahassee.
