It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Ms. Eva Mae Warren , 92, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this life on December 25, 2025.
Homegoing services for Ms. Eva Warren will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Old West Enrichment Center, 2344 Lake Bradford Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32310.
Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .
Sister Eva Mae Warren was born in Marianna, Jackson County, Florida on November 29, 1933. She was the daughter of Joe Warren and Louise Washington. Other than her parents, Eva Mae was preceded in death by her sons, Lewis Brown, Jr., Walter Lee Maritt and Larry Darnell Merritt; sisters: Dorothy Roberts, Irene Holden and Helen Rollins; brothers: Cullen Rollins, Jr. and Elijah Rollins.
Education for Eva was attained in the Schools of Jackson County. Shortly after reaching adulthood, Eva, along with her first-born child, Bertha, moved to Tallahassee. She worked for several years at Joe Franklins Cleaners in the Frenchtown community. She joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church on South Macomb Street and remained there for years until she later joined Popular Springs Primitive Baptist Church, where she remained the rest of her life.
Eva Mae was a hardworking woman who was highly independent. She worked an array of jobs to provide for her family. She was employed as a bus driver for Leon County schools, bus aide for Leon County, and a custodian at Florida State University. She also worked part-time, cleaning houses. Still professing her faith, Eva Mae was unashamed to testify about the Goodness of God.
On Christmas Day, Sister Eva Mae Warren went Home to be with the Lord. Among those whom she leaves her love include her daughters: Bertha Merritt Williams; Lena Glenn Rowzee and Lora (Anthony) Glenn; 7 grandchildren, 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
