On September 22, 1939, Albert and Mary Alice Smith Footman celebrated the birth of their twelfth child, Frances June Footman. She was born in Tallahassee, Florida, where she received her education and resided all her life.
Frances recognized that God was an essential part of life and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1954. She became a member of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, (Macon Community) and later joined St. Matthew Primitive Baptist Church upon her marriage. Later, she re-joined Mt Zion after the death of her husband. One of the joys of life is to share it with someone you love, so Frances became the beloved bride of Ellis B. Rollins and in 1956. Their marriage exemplified the vow of "till death do us part", ending upon his death in July of 1968. Through this union, they were blessed with five daughters. Frances was an avid reader, enjoyed riding to Thomasville to shop, watching her soap operas (her stories), and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren and friends.
On the evening of December 6, 2025, after failing health, Frances answered God's call to transition from this earthy life to eternal life with her blessed Savior. Frances' kind, gentle spirit and her physical presence will be greatly missed by many families and friends. Those loving her dearly and having many precious memories include: Her five daughters, Ella Rollins-Harris (Richard), Henrietta Rollins-Close (Jessie), Carol Rollins, Mary Rollins-Diggs, Priscilla Rollins-Henderson. Sister: Altemese Footman. Sister- in- laws: Lettie Sneed, Mary Agnes Williams. Nine grandchildren: Roderick Shamburger, Curtis Williams, Joycelyn Brinson (Terrance), Takeya Close, Christopher Harris (Sakina), Courtney Burch (Xavier), JaRod Henderson, Jessie (Alex) Close, Raven Diggs (Briel). Six great-grandchildren: Deriyon Brinson, Amora Smith, Jaxon Bennett, Sariyah Hill, Zaire Burch, and Sakin Harris. God-children: Edna Drew and Timothy Cozart. "Bonus" sons: Tony(Cynthia) Barber, Rick Keiser(Laura Phipps). Devoted Friends and Family: Annie Rowe, Annie Mae Barber, Albertha Rouse, and Patrick and Winifred Mason, The entire Mt. Zion P.B. Church family, the Close Family, and the Phipps Family. Frances is preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and six sisters.
It is our profound honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Rollins and to serve the Rollins Family.
