Obituary

Gannett Stephen Fulford, son of Stephen and Tracie Fulford and brother of Esther, Thomas and Jesse, passed peacefully from this life directly into the arms of his Lord on Saturday February 22, 2025.

He was 19 years old and full of love for family, friends and life. He was an Honors Freshman at Florida State University where he spent his days getting ahead on school work, creating content for his 80K followers on his successful social media channels, making plans with friends as often as he could get the gang together, dreaming about the future with Laney, and cooking all of his own meals.

Gannett is known for many defining attributes that barely scratch the surface of his deep and noble character. Integrity, kindness, tenderheartedness, visionary, and humility are a few of many. He had a loud, deep voice and a boisterous laugh. He loved all types of movies and shows. He was a cat guy. He was a student of the games of chess and poker. He loved a chilly, sunny day.

He greatly valued relationships and people over anything else. He was the one to make the "friend group" plans, the one to organize the poker game, the one to pool the money together for the group gift, the one to find the next event to road trip to, the one to do the research, the one to make the final decision. He had multiple friend groups, who he loved to find ways to get them all to meet and know one another.  He was more than a connector, he was the glue.

Gannett's relationship with God was deep and profound, yet uncomplicated. His core beliefs were that God is sovereign over all, God loves his creation very deeply, and that his need for a Savior was only satisfied in the redeeming death of Jesus. He loved listening to sermons, studying his Bible, and discussing theology on any level.

Gannett is survived by his father and mother, Stephen and Tracie of Monticello, FL;  his siblings whom he loved and supported more than words, Esther, Thomas and Jesse; the love of his life Laney Cruce; his Grandparents Gary and Pam Fulford of Monticello, Tempa Babington of Tallahassee, Donna and Roger Miller of Tallahassee;  and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

His love for his family, friends and community at large was so deep that it feels like a long lifetime of love, instead of just 19 years.

Be seeing you, G!
