It is with heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Gladys W. Olige , age 95, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Viewing-visitation will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, one hour prior to the Homegoing service at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Tillman of Tallahassee Chapel.

Gladys W. Olige was born on February 15, 1931, in Monroeville, Alabama, to Andrew and Mattie Williams. At a very young age, she moved to Pensacola, Florida, and enjoyed it so much that she remained there throughout her life.

At the age of 12, Gladys was baptized and accepted Christ at Trinity Missionary in Pensacola, beginning a lifelong journey of faith.

Gladys trained and worked as a dedicated Medical Assistant for Dr. Sunday in Pensacola for many years. She later married the love of her life, Leslie Lamar Olige, and together they built a family rooted in love and resilience.

Gladys loved attending church services, and she was known for her beautiful church hats and flair for fashion. After Sunday services, she especially enjoyed fellowship at Piccadilly Restaurant with her dear friend, Letha and her niece, Sue. Known for her warm heart, nurturing spirit, calm demeanor, and wonderful sense of humor, Gladys was truly a mother figure to many. She was especially proud of being named Ms. Trinity in 1997— an honor that reflected the love and respect her church family had for her.

Gladys's legacy of faith, love, and grace will live on in all whowere blessed to know her. She leaves to cherish precious memory, her devoted daughter: Janice"Niecy" (Edwin) Barcus; grandchildren: James Jr., Frederick Jr., Cedrick, Nikki, Tabitha, Alex, Shawanda, Alexa, and Talia; special nieces: Sue, Pensacola, FL, Ella, Cleveland, OH, and Sandra of Detroit, MI; and a host of other nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and knew her as an aunt, friend, and mother figure. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband: Leslie Lamar Olige; children: George, Leslie (Shirley Olige), and Sandra (James, Sr.) Knight; grandson: Leslie, Jr.; parents; and siblings: Aubrey, Betsy, Bertie Mae, Albert, Edna C., Daisy, Tom, Marguerite, Grady, and Vodie.

It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Olige and to serve the Olige Family.
