Hannah Mae Walker was born in Lloyd, Florida on May 16, 1940, a few minutes after her twin sister, Mary Ann, to Samuel David Walker, Jr. and Bessie Roberts Walker. Hannah was raised in a Christian home by God-fearing parents who always taught her "to live by the Golden Rule"– treat others as you would like to be treated. Hannah was converted at a later age, but all through life, she was an astute Bible scholar. Hannah was quiet and reserved and didn't say much, but, when she talked, people listened.
Hannah was educated in the public schools of Leon County and Graduated from the original Lincoln High School in 1959. After High school, she graduated from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), majoring in Pharmacy. She worked in Georgia, Virginia, Florida and New York as a Pharmacist. She never married but was a lovely aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Sister Hannah Mae Walker was an avid reader and was quite Knowledgeable in many different subject matters, including the Bible. On several occasions in Bible Study, Pastor Williams would ask a question and say anybody can answer this question except Hannah. He made that statement because she had answered most of the previous questions he had asked. Later in her life, she was a caregiver to her parents and her uncle, Julius Walker.
Sister Hannah Mae Walker leaves to cherish precious memories, her four sisters: Mary Ann Singletary (twin), Fannie (Willie) Mosley, Laura (Edmond) Rosier and Annie (Johnny Sr.) Rosier; one sister-in-law: Rosa Walker; three godchildren: Michael Johnson, Hannah Johnson and Adrienne Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church family. Her parents and five siblings preceded her in death.
It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Ms. Walker and to serve the Walker Family.
