James Lamar "Jay" Bellamy of Monticello passed at home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. His funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, at Memorial M. B. Church with interment in Morning Star Church Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553). "Jay" was well-known for his produce sales. He was a successful farmer and loved raising and tending livestock. He was a member of Morning Star M.B. Church. Survivors include his wife, Irene Thompson Bellamy; children: Deldrick, Montrail, Treco (Genesis) and Charlotte Bellamy; bonus children: Jerel (Kim) Thompson, Shanetta King and Sanetra (Joey) Moore; 10 grandchildren; siblings: Joseph (Jackie), John and Willie Bellamy, Josephine Davis, Janie (Johnny) Green, Erma Tyson, Carrie Randolph, Alberta (Freeman) Barnes and Evelyn Pride; and numerous other relatives and friends.
