It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Mr. James H. Wynn, Sr., age 82, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .
Homegoing Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2026, at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 615 Tuskegee Street, Tallahassee, FL 32305, with the interment to follow in Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery, 4691 Hwy 162, Marianna, FL 32446.
James Henry Wynn, Sr. , known as "Bubba", "Hubba Bubba", "Jay" or "J.C." to family and friends, was the next oldest child born to James Charles Wynn and Inez Hooks Wynn in Marianna, Florida on March 26, 1943. Both of James' parents, as well as, a brother (in infancy), and two sisters, Edna M. Caldwell and Bertha Y. Lewis, all preceded him in death.
James received Christ at an early age. He attended the public school system of Jackson County and was a graduate with the Class of 1963. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and later made his home in New York City.
James married Nancy on August 4, 1979, in Hempstead Long Island, New York. He attended Freewill Baptist Church, Roosevelt Long Island, New York. He and his family moved to Tallahassee, Florida in August of 1980. He became a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, James Henry Wynn, Sr. accepted the call of God from this earthly travel. He leaves to remember him in love, a devoted and loving wife of 47 years: Nancy Wynn; two loving children: James Henry Wynn, Jr. and Jacquelyn (Howard) Hill, all of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren: Janesia Wynn, Tottie Anna Wynn, Howard Hill and Miciah Wynn; great-grandchildren: Amina Harris and Banx Harris; siblings: Annell W. Wilson, Mary W. Pipes, both of Tallahassee, FL, Linda W. (James) Roulhac, Marianna, FL, Bryon D. Wynn, Roygenia W. Hairston, both of Tallahassee, FL, Abaron J. (Cheryl) Wynn, Miramar, FL and Wilton E. (Annette) Wynn of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
It is our profound honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Wynn and to serve the Wynn Family.
