It is with loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Mrs. Janiece Y. Dickey , age 35, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2026, at Jacob Chapel Baptist Church, 2333 Lake Bradford Road, Tallahassee, FL 32310.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Jacob Chapel Baptist Church, 2333 Lake Bradford Road, Tallahassee, FL 32310, with the interment to follow in Concord AME Church Cemetery, 16998 Old Ro Co Co Road, Tallahassee, FL 32309.
Janiece YaQuinn Mosley Dickey was born on May 26, 1990, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Harold Mosley and Paula Murray. Janiece was preceded in death by her beloved maternal grandparents, Issiah and Ollie Mae Murray; her paternal grandfather, Walter "Popeye" Mosley Sr.; uncles: Issiah Murray, Jr. and Larry Mosley; and her brother/cousin, La'Tolan V. Barrington Sr.
Janiece attended the public schools of Leon County and was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 2009. She later continued her education in Tampa, Florida, where she attended Ultimate Medical Academy, graduating with the Class of 2020. That same year, she began her career with Leon County Public Schools, where she found great joy and success as a valued member of the Roberts Elementary School family.
Janiece accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Richard Mathews. She continued her spiritual journey as a devoted member of Shady Grove #2 Primitive Baptist Church, where she actively served on the Youth Choir and Usher Board. She also enjoyed fellowshipping with ministries alongside her family at Life the Life International Church Center.
There are so many beautiful things to remember about Janiece—her willingness to serve and help others, her infectious laughter, and her radiant smile that could brighten any room. She cherished time spent with her family, especially the moments shared in the kitchen with her mother and aunts. Janiece had a love for cooking, music, and line dancing. Above all, she treasured the time spent with the love of her life, her husband, Carlos Dickey, and their beloved daughter, Carlee Rose Dickey, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Janiece YaQuinn Mosley Dickey peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Forever cherishing her precious memories are her loving husband: Carlos Dickey; daughter: Carlee Rose Dickey; devoted mother: Paula Murray (bonus father, Robert Turner); father: Harold Mosley; loving grandmother: Mae Ola Mosley of Lloyd, FL; brothers: Chay (Jaamela) Murray, Ricardo Mosley, and Isaiah Mosley; sisters: Jhimeirra (Ameshia) Barrington and Jhimeika (Stephanie) Barrington of Central Florida; special aunts: Debra B. (Darrell) Harris, Lenora Scott and Grace (James) McGee, and Evangeline Gaines; uncles: Derryl (Katherine) Murray and Bernard (Cynthia) Barrington, Walter Mosley, Jr., Jeffrey Mosley, and Travis (Shalottie) Mosley; godparents: Marsha (Christopher) Cooper-Chambers, all of Tallahassee, Florida; mother-in-love: Jill Washington of Atlanta, GA; father-in-love: Walter Dickey Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida; brothers-in-love: Chris Dickey, Charlotte, NC, and Courtney Dickey of Tallahassee, FL.; goddaughter: Imani Seabrroks of Tallahassee. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Dickey and to serve the Dickey Family.
