Jessie James, 82, of Douglas, Ga passed on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (Tomorrow) in the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Tuesday (Today) at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). Born in Monticello and raised in Greenville, Jessie was a U.S. Army Veteran. He had lived in Miami where he retired as a Mechanic for the City of Miami. After retiring, he settled in Douglas, GA. Survivors include his longtime companion, Lynda Mitchell; sons: Gary and Gabriel James; cousins who were like his siblings: Johnnie Levingston Lee, Mary L. (Nathaniel) Forbes, Evangelist Inez L. Williams and John (Tammy) Levingston; and countless other relatives and friends.
