John Jones, Jr. Program

It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Mr. John Jones , Jr. , age 52, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Concord AME Church, 6658 Veterans Memorial Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32309, with the interment to follow in Concord AME Church Cemetery, 16998 Old Ro Co Co Road, Tallahassee, FL 32309.

JOHN RAYNE JONES was born to John Paul Jones and Helen Williams Jones on October 22, 1973 in Tallahassee, Florida. His father and brother, Steven Mock, both preceded him in death.

JOHN grew up in the Miccosukee and Wadesboro Community where he was truly loved by everyone. He attended the public schools of Leon County and earned his General Educational Development Diploma. He gained a wide range of experiences by taking on different jobs over the years.

JOHN accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the now-late Reverend Dr. Jimmy Brookins, Sr. He served well and was very active in the youth department. He would sometimes visit and fellowship with other surrounding churches including the Alabama area. JOHN showed unconditional love to all, not expecting anything in return. His love for his children and his family could never be broken.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, while at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, the Lord released BROTHER JOHN RAYNE JONES from earthly trials and tribulations and received him into His Kingdom. His love and legacy will be cherished forever by his loving daughters: Avian Le'she Hudson, Jacksonville, FL, Denajia Dezeree Baker, Monticello, FL and Jonay Nicole Jones of Campbellton, FL; sons: Darius Jose Jones, Nickalus Rian Jones and Noah Arthur-Louis Jones, all of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren: Royal, Ka'ior, Persia, Egypt, Dakota, Germani Jones and Kalani Pettway; loving and devoted mother: Helen (Arlister Jr.) Mock of Tallahassee, FL; brothers: David Lee Jones, Tallahassee, FL and Arlister Mock III of Louisville, KY; niece: Ja'Davia Jonay Jones; nephew: Davin Paul Jones, both of Tallahassee, FL; godson: Chearick Miller of Marianna, FL; loving aunts: Dorothy Williams, Lizzie Merritt, Vernell (Eddie) Lovett and Julia Wesley; uncles: William (Felicia) Jones, Eugene Williams, Reverend Billy Joe (Lisa) Wesley, Deacon Leroy (Donna) Williams, Deacon Tom C. (Reverend Palmyra V.) Williams, James Wesley, Jr. and Fitzgerald Wesley; great-aunts: Annie (James) Graham and Gertrude Rush; and a host of other relatives and friends. Forever in his heart a special friend and prayer partner from the beginning to the end: Exhorter Sentoria Houston.
