Tallahassee, FL - Johnnie Mae Austin, 86, of Tallahassee passed in Orlando on Monday, May 9, 2022. Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 in Clifford Hill Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is Friday 4-6 p.m. at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). A Tallahassee native, Mrs. Austin graduated from FAMU (undergraduate) and FSU (Master's). She was a librarian for over 40 years with the Alachua County School District. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and a former member of Testerina P.B. Church. Survivors include her son, Michael (Kathryn) Austin; daughter, Karen Daniels; grandchildren: Rachel N. Austin and Jessica Lynn Austin; sisters: Altamease Collins and Albertina Thompson; and a lifelong friend, Ernest (Ella Mae) Gardner; and countless other loving relatives and friends.
