Joseph Dennis, 85, transitioned this earthly life on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, at the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial in Clifford Hill Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). Mr. Dennis retired from Florida State University after over 20 years of dedicated service. He was a loyal member of the Old West Florida P.B. Laymen, St. Mary P.B. Church Usher Board & Men's Choir & Greater Mt. Zion P.B. Church Second Harvest Food Ministry. Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Hattie Ruth Dennis; children: Karla (Terence) Dennis-Gilley, Cassandra D. Ramirez, Alfred Dennis, Eric (Shirley) Shields, Faye (Jackie) Johnson, Karen (Conrad) Gillispie, Kenneth (Valerie) Jones; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
