Josephine Young Sermon, 82, of Tallahassee passed on Sunday, May 11, 2025. Memorial services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950). A lifelong Tallahassee resident, Mrs. Sermon was a graduate of the original Lincoln High School. Before retiring, she had been an Intake Administrator for SHISHA-House West, a Women's Work Release Facility. In her leisure time, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She specifically enjoyed music movies, shopping, crafts and ceramics. Survivors include her children: Reginald (Patricia) Reese, Melonie Reese and Kathy (Milton) Battle; 7 grandchildren; siblings: Pamela Ravenel, Stephanie Oglesby, Dedra Swain, Stanley Williams, Stephen Swain and Michael (Sheila) Swain; step-siblings: Otto Williams and Lillian Williams; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
