Juanita Sheffield Sneed Austin, 87, of Miramar, FL went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, at Bethel M. B. Church, with Interment in Culley's Meadow Wood Cemetery. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). A native of Quincy, FL, Mrs. Austin was the widow of John Sneed and together they had three children. Years after John's death, she married Isaac Austin. Juanita was a graduate of Florida A&M University where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. She was an Educator in Gadsden County for 32 years. She was a member of Bethel, the National Association of University Women, NAACP, Leon-Wakulla Retired Education Association(LAWREA), John G. Riley Museum, FAMU Essential Theater, FAMU National Alumni Association and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Sneed (Len) Sanders; sons: John (Karen) Sneed, Jr. and Ronald "Ben" (Katherine) Sneed; eight grandchildren: sister, Lottie Sheffield Tucker; brother, Wesley Sheffield, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
