U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Retired Kent Thomas Watson passed unexpectedly in Thomasville, GA on Friday, August 30, 2024. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday at Christ Episcopal Church, Monticello, with Interment in Gen. William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightsville, NJ. Viewing is Sunday 4-6 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church 425 Cherry Street Monticello, FL. 32344. Kent was born in Omaha, NE and raised in Denver, CO, Kent enjoyed a distinguished military career that spanned more than 34 years, with over 30 years holding a Top Secret Security Clearance. He attained expertise in Criminal Intelligence Supervision; Fraud-Crime Prevention; Terrorist Financial Investigation of the Top Five Financiers of HAMAS; National Joint Terrorism Taskforce; Assistant Chief Investigative Operations; HQ, MP Group, CID, Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, GA; Dept. Head/Senior Army Instructor, JROTC, Monticello, FL; Chief Economic Development Liaison 2nd Congressional District for Congresswoman Gwen Graham. Most recently, Chief Watson was a Special Investigator for the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation. His military commendations are too numerous to cite here. However, to name a few: Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. Kent was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church and was active in community and political affairs. Survivors include his loving wife, Gladys Roann Watson; mother, Joye Foster Watson; children: Karmen Roann (Harry) Williams, Keith Roann and Glenwood Miller; grandchildren: Myles White, Zion Williams and Kevi'yana Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends.
