On December 3, 1957, a gentle baby boy, LARRY JEROME KING , was born and embraced a small Florida town, by the name of Greenville (Madison County), Florida. His parents were Geraldine King and LeRoy Davis. LARRY was preceded in death by his son: Marquel; both of his parents; stepfather: Willie; two sisters: Ara Faye and Evangeline Frances; and a devoted grandmother: Mrs. F. B. King.

Growing up, LARRY attended New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Greenville, Florida under the leadership of the now-late Reverend C. C. Curry. During the latter years of his life, he would often talk about the messages from the different pastors that inspired him to believe and trust solely in God. One of LARRY'S favorite songs was, "I Want to Be at the Meeting When All the Saints Get Home". That was the song he would sing as he worked quietly around the house.

LARRY attended Madison County Schools, where he was an outstanding student. He ran on the Greenville High School Track team and sang in the High School Chorus and had a unique voice. He graduated from high school in 1975. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Army where he was a Field Communication Electronic Equipment Repairman. While in the military, LARRY received several badges, including M16 Rifle Expert and Hand Grenade Expert. In 1981, LARRY left the Army and was employed by the City of Tallahassee for numerous years. He later left the City and became a Brick Mason with Washington Masonry Company. Even though he was a quiet, gentle and meek individual, he always reached out to help anyone he saw saw was in need. Most importantly, LARRY loved his family.

Larry leaves to cherish precious memories, a dedicated and devoted daughter: Kativa King (Willie) Merritt; stepson: Michael Blaekley; grandson: Willie Merritt III; granddaughters: LaShondria Glenn, Kinni Cromartie and LaMiracle Merritt; five great-grandchildren; brothers: Lance (Barbara), Bernard, Herman, Donald (Angela), Ronald, Vernon, Regnald, Marcellus, Rodney, Kenneth, Willie (Pam), Larry (Cheryl) and Darryl; sisters: Diana (James), Marion (Austin), Janet (Melvin), Rafelita Betty (Willie) and Brenda; a loving aunt: Judy Ann Barkley; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowful friends.

It our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. King and to serve the King Family.
