Lavanuel Mitchell, 65, of Stone Mountain, GA passed at home on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, at Mt. Pleasant AME Church, with burial in Groover Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at 1215 North Jefferson St., Monticello. TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553) is serving the Mitchell family. A native of Miami, Lavanuel had lived and worked in Monticello before moving to the Atlanta area. He is survived by his mother, Queenie Mitchell; children: Shaquonda (Vaughn) Lightbourn, Charnetta Robinson, Lavanuel Jr., Jamell and Frederick Mitchell; sister, Valerie Curtis; 13 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
