Mrs. Laverne Newsome Albert, 79, of Tallahassee passed at home on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Celebrate New Life Tabernacle. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). A Shreveport, LA native, Mrs. Albert was retired from Western Electric (now AT&T). She was an avid bowler and seamstress, and she enjoyed crafts. She was a devoted member of Celebrate New Life. Survivors include her daughters: Denise (Dennis) Simpson and LaTonia Newson; son, Jonathan Albert; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Stevenson; brothers: Walter Newson, Jr. and Alton Newson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
