LaVerne Dixon Stephens, 68, passed on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, at the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial in Rock Hill Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Thursday (Today) at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). A native of Madison, FL, LaVerne graduated from FSU with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. She enjoyed an extensive career with the State of Florida as an Investigator in the Division of Insurance Regulation. LaVerne was a faithful member of Rockhill M.B. Church. Her love and legacy will be cherished forever by her loving husband of 28+ years, Joshua Stephens; sisters: Vera Cole, Sandra Shields, Gwen Jonas (David) and Valerie Dixon; brothers: Johnnie Jr., Wendell (Valerie), Dexter and Melvin (Cheryl) Dixon; and countless nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
