It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Mr. LC Weatherspoon , age 82, of Crawfordville, Florida, who departed this life on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Viewing-visitation for Mr. LC Weatherspoon will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .
Homegoing Services will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2026, at Little Salem Primitive Baptist Church, 1998 Wakulla Arran Road, Crawfordville, FL 32327, with the interment to follow in Hyde-Park (Walker) Cemetery, Lois Lane/Yarbrough Road, Crawfordville, FL.
LC WEATHERSPOON was the beloved son of James Weatherspoon and Lula Green Weatherspoon. LC was born in Quincy, Florida on July 28, 1943. An only child, LC was preceded in death by both of his parents.
LC grew up in his native Quincy where he attended the public schools of Gadsden County. He would join the workforce where he worked an array of jobs before securing employment with the State of Florida as a Maintenance Technician – Groundskeeper with the Florida Department of Management Services. Most of LC's employment years were spent at the Governor's Mansion.
LC grew up in a Christian environment. From an early age, he sang lead with a gospel group. Upon moving to Wakulla County, he joined Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church No. 2. At Mt. Olive, he sang as a member of the Men's Choir. He also served as a Maintenance Technician and an overall "Mr. Fixit". LC retired from state government after working over 35 years of service.
LC's love and legacy will be cherished forever by his companion of 15 years: Valencia Statam; daughters: Yolando Ivey and Maybelline Weatherspoon Williams; sons: Coryen James and Tyrone (Michelle) Weatherspoon; sisters: Essie Mims and Hattie Lockwood; sister-in-law: Rosie Lee Weatherspoon; stepdaughter: Elisa (Miguel) Briggs; stepsons: Patrick Statam, Jr. and Bobby Thomas, Jr.; and several grandchildren and step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
It is our profound honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Weatherspoon and to serve the Weatherspoon Family.
