On July 23, 1969, Mark Gregory Chambers was born to the union of Mr. Dunk and the late Mrs. Burnell Chambers in Gadsden County. Mark spent his early developmental years in Havana, Florida, surrounded by a loving and growing family. In the late 70's, the family moved from Havana to Leon County and settled in the Lake Jackson Community.
Mark attended schools in both Gadsden and Leon County. He was a gifted artist and was talented in both visual and musical arts. Mark was extremely intelligent, especially in the area of mathematics, and excelled in that subject arca. He was a part of the class of 1987 at Leon High School but completed his high school education in an alternative setting and shortly after entering the workforce.
Mark grew up during an era where he watched the power of God change the dynamics of his entire family. As his parents grew as believers, it influenced every aspect of life. Mark was raised in the church alongside his siblings. He served as a musician and as singer throughout his adolescent years. Mark attended Deliverance Revival Church, under Pastor John Garrett; Hickory Hill Holiness Church (now The Revival Center), under Pastor Arthur Riggins; The Original Holy Ghost Miracle Revival Church, under Pastor Robert Larry; and Prayer House of Peace Church, under Mother Julia Freeman and his mother, Evangelist Burnell Chambers. Mark was a part of the gospel groups The Singing 9 and The Gospel Stars. He loved quartet music and was an avid fan and follower of all the great quartet singers. There is no renowned gospel quartet group that Mark had not seen live in concert at least once! As a young man, he sang all over the region with his family and church family. Mark was one of the lead singers and loved to share his rendition of Slim and the Supreme Angels' hit song, "Y'all better Make a Change!"
Mark was a hard worker and had a heart for helping others, especially the elderly and physically challenged. He enjoyed cooking and worked for many local restaurants, as well as Woodmont Health and The Westfall Framing Company, for several years.
Mark had many health challenges, but his strong will would often defy his medical diagnosis. He lived through some things that others would not.
On March 20, 2026, he transitioned from this life to the eternal. He was preceded in death by his mother, Burnell Chambers, and his brothers, Alfred and Tommy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, MarQuita Chambers and Ja'Marne Pittman; grandsons, Thurselle (Trey) Drew and Trenton (Trent) Drew: his father, Dunk Chambers Sr.; siblings, Rayfield, Brenda, Jeffrey (Rondrea, Berlicia, Letricia, Delton (Shantiella), Alisha, and Dunk Chambers Jr., all of Tallahassee, FL; uncles, Ernest Robinson of Havana, FL, Ronnie Neal (Essic) of Tallahassee, FL, Nathaniel Snell and JocNathan Snell of Cyrene, GA, James Emory Gaines (Judith) of Raleigh, NC, and Dave Gaines (Betty) of Tampa, FL; aunts, Eula Pearl Snell of Tampa, FL, Joyce Dobson (Rodncy) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ossic Williams of Newark, NJ, and Lettic McGriff and Patsy Swain o f Havana, FL; his God-family, the Mary Lee Jackson/Chandler Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Chambers and to serve the Chambers Family.
