On Tuesday, June 8, 1954, Marvin Mandel Johnson was born in Ft. Pierce, Florida to the union of John Wesley Johnson and Lula Mae Eady Johnson. Marvin was one of two children. His sister, Diann Johnson Jones, as well as his son, Isreal Johnson and his parents, all preceded him to Glory.

Marvin grew up in his native, Ft. Pierce, where he attended public school. He was a 1972 graduate of Ft. Pierce's Central High School. Shortly after graduation, Marvin was inducted into the U.S. Army where he served with distinction. He entered the military from Coral Gables, Florida on March 3, 1973, and was honorably discharged on March 15, 1976, from Fort Jackson, South Carolina. While serving in active-duty status, he was A Specialist 4, assigned as a Vehicle Material Supply Specialist. Marvin also was a recipient of the National Defense Medal.

Upon his return to civilian life, Marvin enrolled in college at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, where he earned his bachelor's degree. Two very important developments transpired while in college. One, he met and married the former Peggy Ann Bruce. Next, he developed a proficiency for automation, including building software programs. He began his professional career with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as a Forensics Technician and as a Law Enforcement Officer. Marvin would later transition in higher education technology at Florida A&M University, where he would flourish and retire after 25 years of dedicated service to establish his own business, CUBIC, USA.

Marvin's knowledge, skills, and abilities relative to programming have taken him to enterprises such as General Motors and Turner Broadcasting. His expertise, competence and reliability resulted in him being recruited and working in India and in Chin, at Beijing University.

On Friday, December 19, 2025, Marvin finished his earthly course and went home to be with the Lord. He leaves loving memories to his devoted wife, Peggy Bruce Johnson; daughter: Natasha Johnson, both of Tallahassee, FL; niece: Avery Jones; close cousins: Bill Smith and David Smith, all of Ft. Pierce, FL, a host of other loving relatives and friends.

It is our profound honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Johnson and to serve the Johnson Family.
