Matthew McClendon Ash, 80, of Tallahassee passed on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950). Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at Tillman's. A native of Tallahassee, Matt was known throughout the area for walking everywhere he went. He was also known as the "Peanut Man" for selling peanuts throughout town. For the past few years, he was confined to managed residential healthcare. He was the last survivor of his siblings: John Henry Jr., Maggie Ash Deadwilder and Sadie Ash Price. Matt is survived by several relatives, including his caregivers: nephew, U.S. Army Sgt. (Ret) Michael Price and nieces: Jacqueline (Darrell) Johnson and Zelda (Vincent) Pryear, Sr.
