Obituary

It is with utmost respect that we announce the passing of Ms. May Alice Copeland Williams , 90, of Tallahassee, FL.

Homegoing Services for Ms. Williams will be 11:00AM, Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Greater Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, 1819 Saxon Street, Tallahassee, FL 32310. The interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery.

Viewing-visitation will be 4:00PM-6:00PM, Friday, December 19, 2025, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .

May Alice Copeland Williams was born in Tallahassee, Florida on June 21, 1935, to Alfred and Mamie Edwards Copeland and was educated in the Leon County School System.

May lived a beautiful life, rooted in faith, family, and service. She accepted Christ at an early age and carried that commitment throughout life.

A devoted wife, loving mother, daughter, sister, homemaker, and entrepreneur, May was known for her generous spirit and her willingness to help anyone she encountered. Her kindness, strength, and grace touched countless lives.

On December 3, 2025, May Alice Copeland Williams passed away peacefully in Birmingham, Alabama.

May leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Patricia Williams (Theodore) Lowery of Birmingham, AL; two grandchildren: Ebony Lowery of Tallahassee, FL and Jamee (Markita) Lowery of Los Angeles, CA; two great-grandsons: Tayler and Triston Harris, both of Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by her bonus daughter: Christine Williams; three bonus grandsons: Leroy (Angela) Hines of Orlando, FL and Ira and Ivory Harris, both of Tallahassee, FL. May is further survived by her sister: Leola Copeland of Tallahassee, FL; along with a host of loving relatives and friends who will forever remember her warmth and unwavering love.

May is preceded in death by husband: Taylor "Cadillac James" Williams; her parents; her five brothers: James Monroe, Sr., John Copeland, Sr., Burdine Copeland, Leroy Copeland, and Arealius Copeland; and three sisters: Audrey Floyd, Connie Copeland, and Ervine Davis.

May's legacy of faith, compassion, and service will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Williams and to serve the Williams Family.
