Michael Ray "Pokie" Sampson, 63, transitioned on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, at his church, Tabernacle M.B. Church. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Michael received his education from Godby High School and Florida A&M University. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the State of Florida, Department of Workers Compensation. Cherishing precious memories are his wife, Pamela Sampson; their children: Bakari Sampson (Erin), Angela Imoro (Yidana), Dicarrio Jenkins (Janielle) and Jaquetta Maybin (Vernon); 10 grandchildren; mother, Hannah McClinton: siblings: John Copeland, Benjamin (Donna), Curtis (Stephanie), Danny (Betty) and Robin Sampson, Jacqueline Dennis (Fred), Kimberly Edmond (Ronnie) and Ayouna McClinton (Jimmie); mother-in-law, Mattie Lofton; father-in-law, Freeman Pride; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
