Gerald Anderson

Tallahassee, FL - Gerald Anderson, 69, of Tallahassee passed on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Graveside services are 12 o'clock noon Saturday in Barrow Hill (Shady Grove No. 1) Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). A Tallahassee native who grew up in Smokey Hollow, Gerald was a 1970 Rickards High graduate. He later attended Florida A&M University and graduated from Northeastern University. He taught school in Boston, MA and was elected and served two terms in the Massachusetts State Legislature. He was an elder in the Church of Christ and had shepherded churches in Boston, MA, Cleveland, OH and most recently, Havana, FL. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Green Anderson; daughter, Iretha Anderson; sons: Gerald, Richard and Joshua Anderson; two grandchildren: Jayden and Amari Anderson; sister, Mae Anderson Williams; brothers: Jackie (Madelyn), Bob (Mary) and Ted (Melinda) Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
