Respectfully, we announce the passing of Mother Eosia Graham , 99, of Tallahassee, Florida.

Viewing-visitation will be 4:00PM-6:00PM, Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .
Eosia Graham was born on February 26, 1926 in Tallahassee, Florida to Blanche Graham and George Ash. She was the younger of two children. Eosia's parents, as well as her beloved brother, Ernest Graham, all preceded her in death.
Eosia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended church faithfully and continuously expressed her love for the Lord, thanking Him daily for every morning she was blessed to see.
Eosia's educational journey began in Leon County Public Schools and continued at Florida A&M Barber College. Demonstrating her lifelong love of learning, Eosia returned to college at the age of 75 to take senior computer classes at Florida A&M University, proudly riding her yellow bicycle up and down the hills to campus each day. When her granddaughter once asked why she was taking a computer class when she didn't even own a computer, Eosia simply replied, "It is free, and I get to ride my bike like the youngins' do!" She was self-taught in many areas, including typing and sewing, and she found joy in beautifying her home and helping keep her neighborhood clean.
Before beginning her professional career, Eosia, her mother, and her two sons lived on Horseshoe Plantation, a cotton growing forced-labor farm in northern Leon County. While her mother cared for her sons, Eosia sought to build a better life for her family. She moved to the city and found employment at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where she worked in the food and hospitality services for several years.
Eosia's hard work and determination later led her to serve alongside Governor Thomas Collins and Governor Cecil Bryant, managing daily responsibilities and traveling as their personal assistant. This career moved allowed Eosia, a single black woman and mother achieved one of her greatest accomplishments – purchasing her own land and building a home from the ground up. She then moved her family from the rural area of Len County into Tallahassee. After deciding no longer to continue flying for work, she transitioned to employment with the State of Florida and later retired from the Governor's Mansion.
In retirement, Eosia enjoyed traveling by bus each summer to Detroit to visit her son, Oris and spend time with family. During her visits, she delighted in expressing her love for the Lord, enjoying good food, watching baseball, entertaining her grandchildren and her "nutters" (Ivan II and Ian), laughing, and shopping at the Dollar Tree. Her poise, confidence, and polished appearance reflected her grace and dignity. She often spoke of greatness, the value of education, and the importance of having one's own.
As she transitioned into needing full-time support, Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center became her new home. The staff loved her warm smile, kind heart, and spirited personality. Known for "running the hallways" for exercise and never missing a meal at her favorite table, Eosia brought joy, humor, and life to all who cared for her.
On November 24, 2025, at the grace-filled age of 99, Eosia entered her eternal rest with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her life and legacy, her devoted son: Oris L. Floyd; granddaughter: Siletha (Ivan) Belew; grandson: Darrel West; great-grandsons: Ivan II, Ian and Darryl; family supporter: Cynthia Mitchell; and a host of loving family members, loyal friends, and the compassionate staff of Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
It is our profound honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mother Graham and to serve the Graham Family.
