Nancy Lee Benjamin, 78, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Funeral services are 12:00 Noon. Saturday at her church, Memorial M.B., with burial in Oakfield Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at Memorial. Nancy was a 1963 graduate of Howard Academy and a FAMU graduate with Bachelor's and Master's degrees. She was a 39-year employee of the Madison County School District. Nancy was very active in her church (Trustee, Sunday School Supt., Senior Choir, Transportation Ministry, Usher's Ministry and Financial Secretary) and a member of several civic and local groups including the FAMU National Alumni Association, Retired Educator's Association, Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. and the Order of Golden Circle. Survivors include her sister, Lucinda Benjamin; brother, Willie Benjamin; sister-in-law, Dorothy Benjamin; aunt, Amie Cherry; nieces & nephews, Freddie Jr., Deborah, Marcus and Tara Akinlose, Tarius Walden & Rosalind Chambers; close friend and confidante, Louiza Collins Larry; and numerous other relatives and friends.
